Coharta Web hello@coharta.com

I build your new website first. You only pay if you want it

Coharta Web makes one-page websites for local businesses: plumbers, salons, bakeries, auto shops, accountants. I build yours from details that are already public, like your services, hours and phone number, and send you a private link.

If you want it, it’s $149, paid once, and it’s live on your own web address within 24 hours of payment. If you don’t, I take it down.

Got an email from me with a link to your preview? Here’s what happens if you like it.

What $149 covers

Customer copy
  • A one-page website with your name, services, hours, phone number and address
  • Buttons to call or email you, big enough for a thumb
  • A map link that opens directions to you
  • Made for phones first, and it works on computers too
  • Page title, description and business details set up so Google can read them
  • Connected to your own domain, with the padlock (HTTPS)
  • One round of edits, before or after it goes live
  • Hosting for the first 12 months
  • The files are yours. Ask for them any time

Total, paid once$149

You pay after you’ve seen the finished site and want it. If it isn’t live within 24 hours of payment (once your domain settings are in), you get your money back.

When you say yes, I email you a secure link to pay by card.

Three sample sites, for businesses that don’t exist

A plumber, a hair studio and a bakery, all in a made-up Ohio town, so I can show you finished work without using anyone’s real company. Each is built around what that kind of customer asks first. Tap a screen to open the whole site.

A plumber whose page reads like the side of the van

The phone number is the biggest thing on the screen. A card says whether the office is open right now, and the price sheet answers what most people call to ask.

Only on this one: what to do when a pipe bursts, prices you can get over the phone, and the towns the vans cover.

A hair studio that answers “who’s in today?”

The name is set like gold lettering on the studio window. Prices go by stylist, and a chart of hair color levels explains why going blonde can take two visits.

Only on this one: which stylists work which days, prices by stylist, and the color levels.

A bakery that tells you what’s coming out of the oven

The sign is the script on the awning. The page checks the time in Ohio, so it can say what comes out of the oven next and which month’s pies are in.

Only on this one: the morning bake schedule, the case with prices, the bakery year, and ordering a pie ahead.

The same made-up plumber, before and after

Most of the businesses I write to have a site like the one on the left: built around 2011 for a computer screen, and not touched since. This one is invented, but it’s typical.

AfterThe sample site, on the same phone

BeforeThe number is plain text in a paragraph. On a phone you can’t tap it.

Got a preview link from me? Here’s what happens next

You got an email with a link to your preview. Here’s what happens if you like it, step by step, with nothing to pay until step 3.

  1. Now

Look at it on your phone

The link is private. Only you have it, and search engines are told to stay away. Look for anything that’s wrong, out of date or missing.

  2. When you’re ready

    Reply with what to change

Wording, photos, colors, services, hours. One round of edits is included, before or after it goes live, so it helps to send everything in one email.

  3. Once you’re happy

    Say yes, and pay $149

Only after you’ve seen the finished version and want it. You pay by card through Stripe. Nothing is charged before that.

  4. About five minutes

    Point your domain at it

Tell me where your domain is registered (GoDaddy, Squarespace, Network Solutions and so on). I send you the two settings to copy in, or you add me as a user there and I do it. You never give me a password, and your email isn’t touched.

  5. Within 24 hours

It’s live on your own address

Within 24 hours of payment, once the domain settings are in. If it isn’t, you get your money back.

  6. A year later

Keep it running, or take the files

Hosting is included for 12 months. After that it’s $5 a month and I keep it running and make small text changes, or I send you the files for free and you host them anywhere.

Not for you? Reply “no thanks” to the email. I take your preview down and won’t write again.

Questions first? Reply to the email you got, or write to hello@coharta.com.

What’s not included

  • Online booking, ordering, payments or a shop
  • A blog, a logo or new photos
  • All-new copy. I tidy up the wording you already use.
  • Ongoing SEO, ads, or any promise about Google rankings
  • Setting up or moving your email
  • Buying or renewing your domain. You keep paying for it where you do now.

What costs extra

An extra page, like a menu, a full list of services or a photo gallery$49
Small changes after the first round of edits, per batch$25
Hosting after the first 12 months, with small text changes$5/mo

After the first year

The $5 a month is optional. If you’d rather, I send you the files for free and you host them anywhere. Plenty of hosts are free for a one-page site, so you’re never locked in.

Questions

Who are you?

Coharta Web is one person who designs and builds small websites. It isn’t an agency and there’s no sales team. The person who reads your email is the person who builds your site.

Why is it only $149?

It’s one page, and a lot of the work is the same for every site: the code, the hosting setup, getting it onto your domain. That part is already built, with software I set up for this kind of site, so you’re paying for the part that’s yours: your details, your wording, and the design around them.

Will mine look like one of the samples?

No. Each site is designed around its business: the sign, the colors, the things customers ask. The three samples look nothing alike because the businesses aren’t alike. Yours starts from your own name, services and hours.

Why are the samples made up?

Because the previews I build are private to each business until they say yes. Showing them here would mean showing someone’s business without asking.

What if I don’t like it?

Then you don’t pay anything, and I take the preview down. If you like most of it, tell me what to change before you decide. One round of edits is included.

What happens to my domain and email?

You keep your domain where it is. I only change the two settings that point your web address to the new site. Your email settings stay exactly as they are, and I never need your password.

How did you get my email address?

It’s listed publicly, on your website or a business listing. I only write to a business after I’ve built a preview for it. If you’d rather not hear from me, reply “no thanks” and I won’t email again.

How do I know this is legit?

Fair question about any email from a stranger. You pay nothing until you’ve seen the actual site and want it. I never ask for passwords. Payment goes through Stripe, and card payments come with your card's own buyer protection. The mailing address for Coharta Web is 1311 Park St, Unit #706, Alameda, CA 94501.

What do I need to send you?

Nothing, unless something is wrong. The preview already uses your public details. If your hours, prices or services have changed, just tell me.

Who hosts it?

I do, for the first 12 months, as part of the price. After that it’s $5 a month, or I send you the files for free and you can host them anywhere.

Want to see one for your business?

Email hello@coharta.com with your business name and your current website, if you have one. I’ll build a preview and send you the link. Looking costs nothing.
